We Are A Full Service Locksmith Shop

The business had been Deforest Lock & Key, founded by Earl E. Sorenson in 1966. In June of 1976, Richard Fenske became a business partner and it moved to 104 West Main Street, Waunakee.
Renamed Wauna-Key Safe & Lock Shop, on November 19, 1976, it was sold to Donald & Geraldine Larson who purchased it for their sons, Jeff & Doug, who were apparently not much interested in the locksmith trade. During the spring of 1977, in my sophomore year of high school, teacher Jim Stephenson encouraged me to explore the locksmith trade with work release on Tuesday & Thursday afternoons at Wauna-Key on Main Street.
Tom enjoyed spending that time with the Larsons. The business went in storage during the summer of 1977. William Lee bought the inventory from the business in May or June 1979. Tom Ripp acquired all rights to the business name at that time. Dick Hartwig, police chief at that time, suggested registering Wauna-Key as it’s trade name. William Lee moved to Oshkosh, Wi and operated B & B Security in January / February 1980 when the new phone book ads came out. This is the 40th year I have owned and operated Wauna-Key Locksmith. I have become known for the many contacts that I have developed over the years, and the “hard to find” items or unique lock or key. Most of my business has been changing locks or rekeying locks to a new key, anywhere in Wisconsin. I enjoy helping customers and other locksmiths.
